Erma Susan Wolfley, 67, of Blackfoot passed away Friday, Aug. 3, 2012, at her home in Blackfoot, surrounded by her children and grandchildren.
Erma was born on April12, 1945, in Blackfoot to Evan Lyon and Evelyn Iris Scheiss Mecham. She was raised in the Blackfoot area, attending Blackfoot schools and graduating from Blackfoot High School.
Erma married the love of her life, Kenneth William Wolfley, on June 21, 1963, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They were the proud parents of five children: Susan (Bob) Hohman of Arnold, Missouri; Cindy (Jim) Gregory of Mackay; William (Tausha) Wolfley of Blackfoot; Ruth Ann (Darin) Taylor, also of Blackfoot and Rodney James Wolfley (deceased).
Erma was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she served in many church callings including: Primary, Relief Society and ward librarian.
Erma enjoyed spending time with her family, fishing, camping, sewing and picking huckleberries. She worked for 30 years as a cook for the Blackfoot School District. She will be remembered for her world-famous cinnamon rolls.
Erma loved her family and her grandchildren. She spent many hours making baby quilts for each new grandchild. She showed love and service to everyone she knew.
Erma is survived by her son, three daughters, 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren and another on the way; five brothers, Evan Leon (Charolette) Mecham, Norman (Virginia) Mecham, Dennis (Peggy) Mecham, Von (Kayleen) Mecham and Reed (Marcia) Mecham;four sisters, Deola (Brent) Matsuura, Iris Phillips, Nelda (Bruce) Cowley, Victoria Mecham; brother-in-law Chad Buttars and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth; one son, Rodney James; one granddaughter, Zoe Naomi Wolfley; her parents, Evan and Evelyn Mecham, William and Ruth Wolfley and two sisters, Rhea Buttars and Lola Summers.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2012, at Hawker Funeral Home. The family will meet with friends and relatives from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2012, and again for one hour prior to service at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Riverside-Thomas Cemetery.
