Arthur T. “Art” Jordan, age 87, of Laurie, Missouri, passed away Friday, Aug.10, 2012, at the Laurie Care Center. He was born Nov. 28, 1924, in Moreland, a son of Elijah A. and Mary S. Tanner Jordan.
On Aug. 23, 1946, he was united in marriage to Freda C. Goodall, who preceded him in death on Aug. 21, 1995.
Art worked in accounting and was a United States Navy veteran, serving from July 1944 to July 1946.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was an avid bowler.
Art is survived by his sister, Elea Swenson of Sandy, Utah; his niece, Shirley Hamilton and husband Kloyce of Topeka, Kansas; his sister-in-law, Gwen Jordan of Utah; his dear friends, Jeri and Jack Horvath of Laurie, Missouri and Judy Loeffel of Camdenton, Missouri; and many other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters.
Graveside services and interment with full military honors will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Aug.15, in the Garber Memorial Estates Cemetery in Laurie, Missouri. Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Heart Association.
