Jay Roger Westfall, 59, of Aberdeen passed away Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2012 from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.
Jay was born Sept. 16, 1952; he was adopted by H. Kenneth and A. Marjorie Westfall of Aberdeen at the age of three years.
Jay grew up in Aberdeen, going to school and working on his father’s farm.
On July 30, 1971 Jay married Kathleen “Kat” Gambill and moved to Boise. They had three children, Kimberly, Jay Ryan and Gregory.
Jay started working for Boise Peterbilt in 1976.
Jay met Brenda (Hicks) Lobo in Boise and married Oct.11, 1996 in Reno, Nev. He became a great stepfather to David Hicks and Becky Lobo. In September of 2006, Jay and Brenda moved to Aberdeen so he could go to work as a body shop manager for Idaho Falls Peterbilt. This last February, Jay brought his grandson, David Cody Harris, to live with him and Brenda in Aberdeen.
In May of 2011 Jay got a Harley Davidson Road King. He became a kid again, it seemed. He would ride his motorcycle even when he would freeze at first, knowing that the weather would be nicer later. Jay was a hard worker, but enjoyed family, friends, hunting, fishing and riding his motorcycle.
Jay is survived by his wife of 15 years, Brenda of Aberdeen; father, H. Kenneth Westfall of Aberdeen; brother, Jon; sister, Jodie; children, Kimberly, Jay Ryan and Gregory; step-children, David and Becky; and grandchildren, David Cody, Sheridan, Nicholas and Raymond.
He was preceded in death by his mother, A. Marjorie.
There will be a Celebration of Life and Birthday Party held for Jay at 1 p.m. on Sept. 16, 2012 at Darrell and Dawn Moon’s (Mooners) in Aberdeen. There will be graveside services at a later date in Aberdeen and those service times will be announced.
Service arrangements have been under the direction of Hawker Funeral Home in Blackfoot. Condolences may be sent to the family at email@example.com .
