Debbie Lynn Martin, 61, of Blackfoot, passed away at home surrounded by her family on the evening of Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2012.
Debbie was born on June 13, 1951 to Robert and Shirley Jackson in Greeley, Colo., but grew up in Blackfoot. She attended Blackfoot High School and in her senior year was introduced to Randy Martin who she would later marry in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on March 2, 1973.
After attending Business College the kids came; Shane in ’75, Sherece in ’78, and Lonny in 1980. She often said her children were one of her greatest accomplishments. Debbie was also very active in her LDS faith and faithfully served in several leadership positions. Some of her other interests were horses, volleyball and gardening.
She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Randy Martin; son, Shane Martin (wife Crystal); Daughter, Sherece Martin; and youngest son, Lonny Martin. Debbie also is survived by 6 grandchildren; Brogan, Lilly, Noah, Dayne, Alice and Madeline, who all loved her so very much.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 1, 2012 at the Blackfoot 4th Ward LDS Chapel, 520 N. Shilling Ave., Blackfoot. The family will meet with friends for one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the Riverside-Thomas Cemetery.
