Eugene Joseph Pfaff, 84, of Fort Hall passed away Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012 at his home.
Eugene was born Sept. 30, 1928 in Afton, Mo., to Joseph Erving Pfaff and Anna Conrad Pfaff. He received his education in St. Louis, Mo. He then joined the United States Army and served from the end of World War II until the beginning of the Korean War.
On July 22, 1950 Eugene married Daeline Pugmire in Blackfoot.
He worked with potatoes in Blackfoot, construction under the GI Bill, and worked at the FMC plant until he retired in 1988. In his free time he enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, traveling, woodworking and educational reading. He and his family built the home that they now live in. He was a member of the VFW in Pocatello and the AFL-CIO union.
Eugene is survived by his wife, Daeline of Fort Hall; children, Ann (Rod) Garringer of Pocatello, Sandra Binggeli of Fort Hall, Jeannine Griggs of Pocatello, Carol (Terry) Rudolph of Fort Hall, Catherine (Don) Bowlin of Pocatello and James Richard (Lynda) Pfaff of Pocatello; 17 grandchildren; and 34 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Larry Eugene Pfaff; his parents; brother, Larry Pfaff; one great-grandson, Joey; and two great-grand-twins, Christa and Kalob.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012, at the Ucon Cemetery. The family will meet with friends and family from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012, at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 South Shilling Avenue in Blackfoot and from noon to 1 p.m. prior to services at the funeral home.
