Michael “Joe” Lusk, 65, of Blackfoot, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013 at the Portneuf Medical Center from complications of cancer.
He was born Feb. 8, 1947 at Pocatello to Ralph Bailey and BernaDeane Brower Lusk. Joe was raised in the Arbon Valley and attended school in Pocatello, graduating from Pocatello High School. He has lived in Arbon Valley, Pocatello and Blackfoot.
Joe joined the United States Navy in 1966; he served in the Vietnam War and was stationed at Cam Ranh Bay. Following his four-year tour of duty he was honorably discharged.
Joe worked as an iron worker, boilermaker and an operating engineer at the INL.
He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding motorcycles in the desert. He loved classic cars and restoring them.
Joe is survived by his children: Levi (Jill) Lusk of Idaho Falls, Jack Lusk of Blackfoot; Forrest Lusk and Mike Lusk, both of Pocatello; and Lynnae (Allan) Gliege of Eagle; his mother, BernaDeane Lusk of Arimo; one brother, Ralph Alan Lusk of Arbon Valley; one sisters, Melanie (Bret) Hasket of Pocatello and four grandchildren: Madisyn Kate Lusk, McCoy Michael Lusk, Joshua Allan Gliege and Katelyn Dahrl Gliege.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ralph and sister Shannon Kay Wilker.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013 at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 S. Shilling Ave., Blackfoot. The family will meet with friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday and for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Interment will be in the Arimo Cemetery. Military rites will be presented by the American Legion Stewart Hoover Post #23. Condolences may be sent to the family at email@example.com .
