Erma N. Scott, 90, of Blackfoot, passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2013, at her home in Riverside with her daughter, Teresa at her side.
She was born December 2, 1922 in Kimball, Idaho to Carrie Louisa and Leslie Moroni Nielsen. She attended Firth High School.
On June 11, 1941, she married LeRoy M. Scott in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They lived most of their life on a farm in Pingree. He preceded her in death on May 27, 1998. Erma moved to Riverside with her daughter, Teresa in 2005.
Erma loved the mountains and camping with her children. She was multi-talented in cooking, sewing, crocheting, embroidering, gardening, decorating and dancing.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She and her husband served as church dance directors for many years.
She is survived by her children, Charlotte Marie (Steve) Covington of Boise, Jerald LeRoy (Sharon) Scott of Vancouver, Washington, Dan Norman (Marie) Scott of West Jordan, Utah, Cheryl Ann (David) Beyerle of Tooele, Utah, Susan Louise (Roger) Gunter of Blackfoot and Teresa JoAnne Scott of Blackfoot; brother, Val Dean Nielsen of Blackfoot; sisters, Alta Fay Hansen of Mackay, Idaho and Lalah Cameron of Orem, Utah; 57 grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, LeRoy, and two brothers, Lester and Don Nielsen.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at the Riverside LDS Chapel.
The family will meet with family and friends on Monday evening from 6-8:00 p.m. at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 S. Shilling Ave. and for one hour prior to the service at the church.
Interment will be in the Riverside-Thomas Cemetery.
