Mary Leah Parris, 86, of Moreland passed away Saturday, June 29, 2013 at her home with her family by her side.
Leah was born May 5, 1927 in Shelley to Olen V. Bateman and Mary E. Hebertson. She lived her entire life in Southeast Idaho and most of her adult life in Moreland.
On Aug. 28, 1950, Leah married DeVear F. Parris. He preceded her in death in 1976.
She worked for 27 years for Nonpariel. In her free time she enjoyed gardening, decorating cakes, watching NASCAR and traveling.
Leah was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Leah is survived by her sons, Kent Parris (Kaylynne Blair) of Blackfoot and Bret Parris of Moreland; daughters, Judy (Richard “Barry” Casper) Parris of Pingree and Mary (Ed) Meinelt of Albuquerque, New Mexico; daughter-in-law, Sherry Parris of Port Orchard, Wash.; sister-in-law, Jean Bateman of Blackfoot; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, DeVear; parents, Olen and Mary Bateman; son, Earl Parris; and brother, Delbert Batemen.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at the Moreland Cemetery under the direction of Hawker Funeral Home.
