Douglas Adam Polatis, 27, passed away July 26, 2013, from complications of diabetes and a seizure disorder.
He was born April 1, 1986, in Blackfoot to Kevon Lowell and Betty Ann Christiansen Polatis.
Douglas loved the Denver Broncos football team. He also loved to watch monster trucks, play video games, 4- wheeling, and fishing. His greatest friends were his family and he was always excited when they were here. He taught everyone compassion, patience, and unconditional love.
He is survived by his parents, Betty (Jay) Ellis, Blackfoot; Kevon (Hazel) Polatis, Rexburg; siblings, Eric Polatis, Boise; Kimberly (Shawn) Wood, Idaho Falls; Charles (Kim) Polatis, Pocatello; Hailey Dance, Rigby; Shantell (Mike) Bullock, Orem, Utah; and Jada, Jacob, Cody, David, and Amanda Polatis, all of Rexburg; grandparents, DeVar and Dorothy Christiansen, Blackfoot; Ruth Polatis, Rockford; and Grant Bowen, Rexburg; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Lowell Polatis; and a grandmother, Shirley Bowen.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, Aug. 1, 2013 at 11 a.m. in the Riverside-Thomas Cemetery, 949 W. Hwy 39.
A viewing will be held Thursday at the Moreland 1st Ward LDS church, 740 W. 175 N., from 9 to 10:30 a.m. prior to services.
