Jerald J “Bo” Bowman, 75, of Blackfoot, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2013, at his home after a year long battle with cancer.
Jerald was born March 10, 1938, in Blackfoot to Jack M Bowman and Mable P. Leavitt. He lived his lifetime in Blackfoot and graduated from Blackfoot High School in 1956. He attending Idaho State University for two years where he studied accounting and business.
Jerald married his high school sweetheart Eva Mae Grimmett on June 20, 1958. They have two children, Pam and Kip.
Jerald was known as an entrepreneur throughout his life. He owned many local businesses including 3-B Sales, Blackfoot Transfer, High Country RV, and other snowmobile and motorcycle shops. In his free time he enjoyed snowmobiling, golf, hunting, fishing, building things and tinkering around. He loved the outdoors, adventure and spending time with his family and friends.
He was a member of the Blackfoot Men’s Golf Association, the Idaho National Guard, and a lifetime member of the Elk’s Club. Jerald was also recognized for his accomplishments in softball and is honored in The Softball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York.
Jerald is survived by his wife of 55 years, Eva Mae; daughter, Pamela Bowman of Blackfoot; son, Kevin “Kip” Bowman of Blackfoot; sister, Vicki (Weldon) Tovey of Cedar Hills, Utah; grandchildren, Kallee Hone (Tony) Valentine and Macen Jerald Bowman; two great granddaughters, Reese and Emersen; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013, at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 S. Shilling Ave., Blackfoot. The family will meet with friends and relatives from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, August 16, 2013, and again for one hour prior to services at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers family suggests donations be made to the Primary Children’s Hospital or the Elk’s Rehabilitation Center in Boise. Condolences may be sent to the family at: email@example.com.
