Steven Brent Cronquist, 58, of Pingree passed away on Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013 at his home surrounded by his family following a lingering illness.
Steven was born on Feb. 4, 1955 in Logan, Utah to Carl and VaLoye Balls Cronquist, Jr. He was raised in the Blackfoot area and attended Snake River schools, graduating from Snake River High School. He married Diane Schobe and together they had two sons, Jimmy and John. They were later divorced. Later in life he found companionship with Debbie Thomas and they remained together until her passing on Nov. 9, 2012.
Throughout his life he worked as a dairy farmer, long haul truck driver, and a coal furnace technician. He most recently owned and operated a tractor trailer in which he most often hauled grain.
He was a member of the LDS Church. He liked to work on old cars and tinker in his shop.
Steven is survived by two sons, Jimmy (Natalie) of Moore and John (Stacie) of Fairfield; his parents, Carl and VaLoye of Blackfoot; three brothers, Dennis (Becky) of Shelton, Wash., David (Sue) and Rocky (Teresa), all of Blackfoot; two sisters, Donna Lue Cronquist (Chris Bowen) and Nancy (David) Diaz, all of Blackfoot; stepsons Ben (Lisa) Thomas of Blackfoot and Eric (Karen) Thomas of Utah; 5 grandchildren and his faithful dog Gus.
He was preceded in death by his companion Debbie.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2013 at Hawker Funeral Home. The family will meet with friends for one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be in the Riverside-Thomas cemetery.
The family would like to thank Blackfoot Home Health and Hospice and his aide Gloria for their help in his last days.
Arrangements are under the direction of Hawker Funeral Home, 132 South Shilling in Blackfoot.
