Edwin Eugene Kearsley, 66, passed away Thursday, September 26, 2013 at the Mini Cassia Care Center in Burley, Idaho.
He was born August 4, 1947 in Driggs, Idaho the third child and second son of Irvin Horace and Freda Wilde Kearsley.
Edwin attended school in Victor, Idaho, Providence, Utah and Blackfoot, Idaho. He graduated from Blackfoot High School in 1967. He attended BYU-Provo, Utah and Idaho Trade and Tech in Twin Falls, Idaho. He graduated from Idaho State University in 1995.
He served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the London, England mission. Upon return from his mission, he enters the military serving in the Air Force. He served 6 years active duty and 24 years in the Air Force Reserves at Hill Field Air Force Base.
While stationed in California, he met Valerie Collings. They were married in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on September 8, 1972. He became the father of five daughters. He and Valerie were later divorced.
Edwin worked in heating and air conditioning business then later at the INEL as a systems and examination tech.
He enjoyed ham radio, photography and traveling during his military training.
He is survived by his daughters, Heather Marie(Reed) Nelson of Hillsboro, Oregon, Sara Kearsley of Hillsboro, Oregon, Shawna (Jeff) Huso of Phoenix, Arizona, Marika (Tim) Kearsley of Mountain Home, Idaho and Rachel (Bin) Tolman of Phoenix, Arizona; brothers, Richard Irvin (Sharyn) Kearsley of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Lyman LeRoy (Laurie) Kearsley of Blackfoot, Idaho; sisters, Bessie Lou (Keith) Willyerd of Blackfoot, Idaho, Carolyn Newey (Glenn) Davis of Vienna, Virginia, Leola (John) Brookhart of Ucon, Idaho, Janet Anita (Amando) Alvarez of Blackfoot, Idaho, Kristina (Terril) Mortensen of Orem, Utah and Melissa Ann Kearsley of Blackfoot, Idaho; numerous nieces and nephews and 5 grandsons and 3 granddaughters and one more child on the way.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at the Shelley 4th Ward LDS Chapel, 184 North Park, Shelley, Idaho.
The family will meet with friends for one hour prior to the service at the church
Interment will be in the Victor, Idaho Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. under the direction of Hawker Funeral Home.
