Beth Stokes, 77, of Blackfoot passed away Monday, Oct. 21, 2013. at her daughter’s home in Firth.
She was born Dec. 28, 1935 in Chinook, Mont., the daughter of Eldridge Andrew Tuck and Rosella Archibald Tuck.
Beth grew up in Chinook, Mont. until the age of six, then moved to Wilson, Utah where she received her education.
On Nov. 9, 1949, she married Lloyd Daniel Stokes in Evanston, Wyo. Dan and Beth were later sealed in the Albuquerque New Mexico LDS Temple. They made their home in the Ogden area until moving to Blackfoot in 1976. She always considered Blackfoot home. They lived a short time in Paulden, Ariz.. and Estancia, New Mexico before moving back to Blackfoot.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served as a visiting teacher and Primary president.
Beth worked for Cutter Laboratory, Del Monte Foods in Ogden and as a home health provider.
She loved riding horses and especially loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughters, Linda (Ron) Anderton of Moreland, Sandy (Dallas) Hoffer of Idaho Falls, Pamala (Stokes) Lish of Firth and sons, Dan (Darla) Stokes of Estancia, New Mexico; Don (Anna) Stokes of Moreland, Richard (Sue Ann) Stokes of Moreland and son-in-law Paul Shupe of Grace; 33 grandchildren, 85 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd; daughter, Debbie Shupe; four brothers and two sisters.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013 at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 S. Shilling Ave., Blackfoot.
The family will meet with friends for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Interment will be in the Springfield Cemetery.
