Martin Francisco Aguirre, 49, of Blackfoot, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2013 at his home.
He was born Oct.30, 1964 in Idaho Falls to Jose and Balrina Aguirre. He attended school in Blackfoot, graduating from Blackfoot High School.
On Aug. 4, 1988 he married Martina Luis in Blackfoot,. They were divorced in 2004.
He was a member of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church.
Martin worked as a laborer for various potato warehouses, most of which were at Lambert Produce.
He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed bike riding and weightlifting until he suffered a back injury. Martin was a hard worker and never shied away from the opportunity to work, no matter what the circumstances were. If someone was in need of help he would do anything he could for them.
He is survived by his children: Melanie Longoria of Fort Hall, Martin Joseph (Lynlee) Aguirre Jr., Adam Pedro Aguirre, Drusilla Constancia Aguirre, all of Blackfoot, Latasha Marie (Carlos Ballesterus) Aguirre of Boise; brothers, Fernando Longoria of Hobbs, NM, Jose Luis Longoria of Blackfoot, Henry Aguirre of New Mexico; sisters, Rosa Aguirre, Josie Aguirre, Hope Aguirre, Mary Aguirre, Rachel Aguirre, all of Blackfoot, Aurora Aguirre of Lubbuck, Texas and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Balrina Aguirre and two brothers, Jose Aguirre and Antonio Longoria.
Funeral mass will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013 at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church. A rosary service will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 15, 2013, with a viewing immediately following at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 S. Shilling Ave., Blackfoot. Interment will be in the Grove City Cemetery.
