Clea E. Going Wilson, 84, of Blackfoot passed away Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013 at her home surrounded by her family following a long illness.
She was born March 4, 1929 in Downey, the daughter of John and Sarah Burrup Waddoups.
She attended grade school in Downey and graduated from Moreland High School. She has lived in Idaho most of her life, in the Riverside area and lived a few years in Salt Lake City, Utah. While living in Salt Lake City, she was a caregiver for Governor Norm Bangerter’s mother.
In June of 1948, she married Russell Waddel Going in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. He preceded her in death and she later married Lester Moroni Wilson, who also preceded her in death.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Clea worked as a nurse at Bingham Memorial Hospital and State Hospital South. She worked in the Head Start Program and finished out her career working as a Foster Grandparent with young adults at State Hospital South.
She enjoyed cross stitch, crocheting, sewing, raising a garden and canning.
Clea was a devoted mother, raising her eight children mostly as a single parent. She was a caregiver by nature and was loved and cherished by all who knew her. Her cheerful smile and positive attitude will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her children, Kathy (Tom) Clough of Florence, Ore.; Lyle Going of Riverside; Nina (Brent) Wells of Portland, Ore.; Rod (Mignon) Going of Richmond, Utah; Ruth Ann Haines of Riverside and Michael Allen Going of Blackfoot; brothers, Letho Waddoups of Twin Falls, Hazen (Sharon) Waddoups of Riverside and sister, Elaine Spencer of Salt Lake City, Utah; 20 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by both of her husbands, Russell and Lester; son, Ray Going; daughter, Tammy Going; her parents and brothers, Melton, Verl and Cleo.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013 at the Riverside LDS Chapel with Bishop Craig Watkins conducting.
The family will meet with friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday evening, Nov. 22, 2013 at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 S. Shilling Ave., Blackfoot, and for one hour prior to the service at the church.
Interment will be in the Riverside-Thomas Cemetery.
