JoAnn Williams, 80, of Moreland passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, Dec. 2, 2013 from a long term illness.
JoAnn was born Dec. 25, 1932 in Montpelier to James Rasmussen and Mary Emma Barkdull Rasmussen. She lived her early life in Pocatello and later moved to Moreland. She attended Pocatello High School.
On Oct. 31, 1951 JoAnn married Blake Williams in Winnemucca, Nev. They had three sons, Steve, Brent and Rick.
JoAnn was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and enjoyed visiting teaching.
She worked at Evergreen Café in Pocatello and at St. Maloys Café in Blackfoot. She bowled on mixed league and ladies leagues. She had a high 168 average. She was a past Elks Lodge member. In her free time she enjoyed dancing, crafts, crocheting, and going to Quartzsite, Ariz., but her greatest joy was being a wife, mother and grandmother.
JoAnn is survived by her husband, Blake of Moreland; sons, Steve (Patrice) of Pocatello, Brent (Marva) of Groveland and Rick of Moreland; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Mary Rasmussen; all nine of her siblings, Royal, Harold, Carol, Clarence, Robert, Bernice, Genevieve, Lowell and Darrell.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 6, 2013 at the Moreland LDS Chapel, 740 W. 175 N. in Moreland. The family will meet with friends from 6-8 Thursday, Dec. 5, 2013 at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 S. Shilling Ave., Blackfoot. Condolences may be sent to the family at email@example.com
