Frank Thibeault, 91, of Blackfoot, passed away Sunday, March 23, 2014 at Bingham Memorial Rehab and Extended Care Facility.
He was born Oct. 8, 1922 in Tilbury, Ontario, Canada, to Laurent and Harriett Rowe Thibeault. Frank lived in Ontario, Canada and Blackfoot, Idaho. He attended school in Canada through the sixth grade.
On Nov. 17, 1951 Frank married Mabel Galbraith in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. Mabel preceded him in death.
Frank was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He had served as bishop’s counselor, branch president, ward mission leader, stake mission president, temple veil worker, service missionary and home teacher.
He served in the Scottish Highlanders as a private, during World War II, in England and France.
Frank enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling, cooking holiday dinners, playing board and card games and loved nature.
He is survived by his children: Michelle (Bobby) Brown of Houston, Texas; Franklaine Thibeault of Canada; DeeLynne Shamy of Pocatello, Idaho; Gaydeen (Mike) Dollar of Orlando, Fla.; George (Brenda) Thibeault of Blackfoot, Idaho; Shannon Thibeault of Boise, Idaho; Laureesa Thibeault of Blackfoot; 26 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mabel; his parents and siblings, Harry, Jennie, Laurence, Charles, Clement, Alma Wilson, Eugene, Louis, Annie Nead, Alcide, Evelyn Reume, George, Oscar and Mary.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 28, 2014 at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 S. Shilling Ave., Blackfoot. The family will meet with friends and relatives from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, March 28, 2014 and again for one hour prior to service at the funeral home. Canadian funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, April 3, 2014 at McKinlay Funeral Home in Chatham, Ontario, Canada. A viewing will be held Wednesday, April 2, 2014 from 7 to 9 p.m. Interment will be in the Morpeth Cemetery, Morpeth, Ontario, Canada.
