IDAHO FALLS — Trailing by one goal to the Bonneville Lady Bees, Blackfoot put on a last rush in a valiant effort to tie the game. In the last 5 minutes of play the Lady Broncos peppered the Bonneville goal, only to see the ball carom harmlessly away on as many as five occasions, leading to a hard fought, yet disappointing 3-2 season ending loss.
"The last few minutes we hit the post, the post and the post and it's just one of those things," Blackfoot head coach Scott Stufflebeam said. "Sometimes you just don't get lucky and after you've been running for 60 minutes and to try and get anything extra out of your legs it awfully tough to do. These ladies stepped it up and I was real proud of them. We would have loved to have got the win and I really think that we should have got the win but sometimes the ball doesn't bounce your ways and hopefully everyone will pick there heads up and understand that they won in just the way the effort was."
Ruby Pelayo and Karina Ballesteros collected the goals for the Lady Broncos as they tried to battle back from a 0-2 hole.
On the season Blackfoot racked up five wins, all in the conference as they took second in the regular season.
