BLACKFOOT – People who love the music of Josh Groban, Il Divo, and Andrea Bocelli will love the singing of Destino when they take the stage at the Blackfoot Performing Arts Center on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
Their music is best described as “popera” or “pop with an opera flair.” The group is receiving high acclaim for their diverse talents and improvisational skills as they further define and promote the wildly successful sound of popera currently sweeping the musical charts.
They are fast becoming a classical crossover sensation - with one of the most quickly added tunes for Canadian adult contemporary with the song “Show Me the Way Back to Your Heart.”
Destino, meaning “destiny” in Italian and Spanish, is Joey Niceforo, Rosemary Siemens, Terance Reddick and Roy Tan. Before collaborating, the four musicians were in established solo careers, performing pop, opera, gospel, soul, R&B, jazz, and musical theater.
They have performed extensively across North America and Canada. Scene Magazine said “Destino shook the rafters....and you didn’t have to be an opera love to appreciate it. Destino combines the musical passion and power of opera with the accessibility (and boy-band good looks) of pop. The result was a concert that left a sold-out crowd on its feet and begging for more.” Their music can be heard at destino4.com.
Tickets for Destino are $20 for adults and $15 students (under 18). They are available at blackfootpac.com, Tweedy’s Music in Blackfoot, or by calling 208-317-5508.
Many other concerts are being offered this year at the Blackfoot Performing Arts Center. Tickets are available for all concerts. For more information, see blackfootpac.com or call the Performing Arts Center at 208-317-5508.
