Blackfoot fifth graders earn new bikes through Meador's PASS program

Ask any of the fifth graders from Blackfoot School District who were awarded a free bike from Phil Meador Toyota in Pocatello for their perfect attendance and most will say that it was a "piece of cake."
Nearly 80 student from the district received a free mountain bike, helmet, and an award certificate, while they and their families were treated to a pasta dinner from Villano's Italian Restaurant at the finale of Phil Meador's "PASS" (Perfect Attendance Spells Success) Program on Tuesday evening.
Dealership manager Jason Meador said that the company started the program four years ago to "encourage good attendance and to help kids become more successful.
"We chose fifth graders because they are at that age where they really grasp that 'hard work will pay off,' " Meador said. "This program involves the parents, kids and the teachers."
