The Blackfoot employees of First American Title and Title Financial Specialty Services and their parent company, Title Financial Corporation, collected both goods and money to donate to the Bingham Crisis Center (BCC) and the Blackfoot Police Department. They invited personnel from both public agencies to the TFC offices at 195 S. Broadway in Blackfoot on Friday to receive the donations they assembled.
For the police department, the employees at the TFC offices put together 86 "kare kits" with items like drinking water, instant coffee, non-perishable food, gloves and personal hygienic items. The kits will be kept in patrol vehicles and handed out by police officers to those in the community who may may need them.
The employees also made a donation of money and goods to the BCC. They collected $804 which they gave to Scott Smith, the director of the center. They also collected basic items like easy-to-make boxed meals, tissues, toilet paper, socks, disposable diapers and duffle bags to keep personal items in. These are for the clients for the crisis center, to help the center in their mission to provide shelter, concealing and advocacy for the victims of domestic violence and family trauma.
The local offices of TFC, TFSS and FAm are beginning to collect items for their autumn donation initiative, called "Sock-tober." One of the most requested items at shelters and related agencies are socks. Socks are also one of the least donated items. Anyone wishing to help is welcome to drop off sock donations at: FAm at 168 Pacific Street, TFC at 195 S. Broadway or TFSS at 580 Jensen Grove Drive, all located in Blackfoot.
