Eric V. Hauser

Eric was born in Columbus, Ohio, where his father was stationed in the military. He lived his first four years in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. In 1965, the family moved from Ohio to California; in 1970, from California to Blackfoot. He died of an apparent heart attack in Kent, Wash.
Eric graduated from Blackfoot High School in 1979. He attended ISU, and graduated from the Law Enforcement Program in 1996 with P.O.S.T certification. He was a police officer for Aberdeen, Pocatello, and a resource officer for the Idaho Falls Police Department. In 1999 he was a resource officer from the Coquille, Ore., police department. His last job was director of security operations for Medallic Art Company in Dayton, Nev, an international money minting operation.
He was married and divorced three times. First, to LaVancha Michelson, Blackfoot; second, Trina Dixon, Blackfoot; third, Kim Clark, Silver Springs, Nev. To his union with Trina, he had four daughters: Arlee Haley, Shayenne Miller, Emily, and Madison.
His son, Logan. 24, lives in Wilmington, North Carolina.
Eric is survived by his parents, Ralph and Mary Hauser, Blackfoot; younger brother, Todd, Seattle, Wash.; the four previously mentioned daughters, Pocatello; son, Logan; four grandchildren; Ed and Shirley Hauser, Royal Oak, Mich, his aunt and uncle; cousins in Michigan and Ohio. Uncle Charles and Aunt Rose Yen, Akron, Ohio.
Eric loved his family. He loved music, and was very knowledgeable about it. He taught himself to play guitar, and played in bands. In his memory, plant some flowers, plant a tree, write or sing a song, light a candle. He will see and hear you, and smile.
Eric Vincent Hauser has been cremated. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 5, 2011, from 11 a.m. to noon, at the Hawker Funeral Home, 132 S. Shilling, Blackfoot. No donations, please.
