Fay Nielson Tripp, 84

Fay Nielson Tripp, 84 of Blackfoot, a loved and loving daughter, sister, friend, aunt, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away on Sept. 22, 2012 from complications after battling Alzheimer's disease for a number of years. She was born Aug. 11, 1928 in Metropolis, Nev., to James and Anna Nielson.
Fay married Von Tripp on March 3, 1947, and a year later their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple on March 4, 1948. Together Fay and Von had four children, LaVon (Dee) Simper of Garibaldi, Ore.;  Jimmy (deceased), Evan (Ranae) Tripp of Blackfoot and Marsha Tripp of Pocatello. Fay was a past president, state treasurer and secretary of Bingham County Association for Retarded Citizens. She received the Golden Gleaner Award and was also a member of Daughters of Utah Pioneers. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society and served in many of the LDS church organizations including Mutual, Scouting, Primary and Relief Society. Her hobbies included cooking, sewing, traveling, music and dancing. She loved children.
Fay is survived by her two daughters, LaVon and Marsha and her son, Evan; her sister June Albiston,of Heber City, Utah; her brother Lee Nielson of Rupert; her grandchildren, John (April)Simper, Don (Michelle) Simper, Jim (Jessica) Tripp, Brody (Veronica Garcia) Tripp , Brianna (Zach)Bowhay, 12 great-grandchildren and 3 step-great grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Von Tripp; her son Jimmy; her parents; sisters, Melba Duncan and Ethel Nielson; her brother Evan Nielson and all her husband's brothers, sisters and spouses.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012, at 11 a.m. in the Blackfoot LDS Fifth Ward, corner of Meridian and Sexton. with Bishop Russ Cottam conducting.
The family will receive friends Wednesday  from 6-8 p.m. in the Hawker Funeral Home, 132 South Shilling Ave., Blackfoot, and at the church on Thursday from 10-10:45 a.m.
Burial will take place following services in the Arimo Cemetery. 
Our thanks to the Willows Assisted Living and Memory Care Center in Blackfoot, for the care of our mother for the last 5 years and to Blackfoot Home Health and Hospice for helping to make her last days as comfortable as possible
