Frank John Bartausky, 61

Frank John Bartausky, 61, lost his fight on Friday, May 16, 2014 in Murray, Utah due to complications associated with a heart and kidney transplant.
Frank was born on Jan. 3, 1953, at Eaton Maternity Center in Shelley, Idaho. He was the third of eight children born to Ed and Rita Bartausky. He was the biggest baby of all, tipping the scales at 9 lb. 14 oz., a Gentle Giant.
Frank was baptized at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Blackfoot, Idaho. He graduated from eighth grade at St. Margaret’s. Then hewent on to graduate from Snake River High School in 1971. He received a full ride wrestling scholarship to Boise State University. He attended school there for one year, came home for summer vacation to work and decided that working was a better fit.
On July 3, 1981 Frank married Kristie Jones in Springfield, Idaho. They were later divorced but remained friends. He is the proud father of four fantastic kids: Kadie Rose “Rosie”, twins, Lukas John and Madison Kaye “Sis” and step-daughter MaKenzie. He also had many others that claimed him as “Dad”.
Frank was a very patient man and was a kid magnet. He would load his kids, nieces, nephews and  any strays up to go “fishing”.  Frank would never get an opportunity to throw in a line. He sat on the bank with his Oly, baiting the hooks and untangling the lines   which was probably not an easy task with his big ol’ paws.
At the age of 18 Frank began working at Bartausky Masonry for his brother, Larry.  Some of their rock work includes the old Howard’s Arctic Circle, the Pavilion at Jensen Grove, sidewalks in Jackson Hole, plus many homes and cabins. Frank later ventured out on his own and started Bartausky Stacking.  In the early 90’s he purchased some cattle and ranched with his dad.
Frank enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, a cold beer, scratching lottery tickets and spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his son, Lukas John (Hailey Ramsdell) Bartausky of Blackfoot; daughter, Kadie Rose (Brandon) Birch of South Carolina; step-daughter MaKenzie (Jeff) Pratt of Aberdeen; grandchildren: Mason and Bailey Birch, Paxton and Deegan Pratt; brothers: Pete (DeAnn) Bartausky and Ged (Terrie) Bartausky; sisters: Pam (Bob) Berggren and Joan (Dan) Woolley; sisters-in-law, Marva and Cheryl; numerous nieces and nephews and many close friends.
Nine months prior to his death Frank lost his daughter, Madison Kaye. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Rita Bartausky, brothers Larry and Tom and a sister Mary Kaye.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 S. Shilling Ave., Blackfoot. The family will meet with friends and relatives for one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
