Idaho State Rodeo names first 2018 champions

The Idaho State High School Rodeo began its competition on Sunday morning when the Boy's and Girl's Cow Cutting Events and the Reined Cow Horse Event all began at the Bannock County Fairgrounds in Pocatello.
On Monday, the first of the saddles that go to the winners of each event were won by the winner's of the Girl's Cow Cutting and the Boy's Cow Cutting events.
When the Sunday morning go-rounds began in the Girl's Cow Cutting Event there were not many people who were talking about the chances of Jessi Jane Portenier winning the event. Portenier was far from the champion in her own district, let alone putting up scores that would have had her among the favorites in the event.
