Lady Bees sting Lady Russets

SHELLEY — What started out as a tight contest quickly turned south in a hurry for the Shelley Lady Russets on Tuesday night as the visiting Bees turned in a big 23 point second quarter, en route to a 61-45 High Country Conference win at Shelley.
"I thought that we executed really well to start the game and Kimber [Call] was doing a great job of keeping us right there in the ball game with some big shots," Shelley head coach Burke Davis said. "We just couldn't get a stop there in the second quarter and once they got a couple of easy buckets they got the momentum and then it was a long fight to battle back."
But battle the Lady Russets did as they never relented in their quest for their first conference win of the season. Kimber Call led the charge with 15 points on the evening, including a trio of long distance calls from the perimeter.
Sam Orme added 9 on a night in which the Bees just had too many answers for the Lady Russets.
"You know, we are going to keep at it because you never know how it will all turn out," Coach Davis said. "These girls don't quit and if we can just get to a point where we can put it all together for four quarters, we can beat anybody."
Shelley (5-11, 0-8) will head to Madison for a conference game with the Lady Cats' on Thursday. Game time is scheduled for 7:30 P.M.
