Loomis active in community during first month in office

Since he was sworn in as Blackfoot's mayor one month ago, Paul Loomis has been out and about in the community while learning the ropes of his new job.
Loomis has engaged himself in a variety of events including City Legislature Day in Boise, speaking to students at local elementary schools, and giving his first State of the City address.
Loomis said that City Legislature Day was a "great experience" and he is looking forward to sharing what he learned with the city.
"My first month as mayor has gone well; I've been busy," he said. "I enjoyed talking to the second graders at Stalker Elementary, it took me back to the town hall meetings during the [mayoral] election. Those kids asked some good and tough questions."
Loomis will lead his first regularly scheduled city council meeting on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Blackfoot City Hall and the agenda is a busy one.
