Naomi Pharis, 88

Naomi Pharis, 88, a long time Groveland area resident, died Sunday, Jan. 15, 2012, at her home following an illness. 
Naomi was born Sept. 10, 1923 in Aberdeen to Marvin William Elison and Leona Coolbear. She spent most of her lifetime in the Blackfoot area, graduating from Blackfoot High School.
On July 7, 1942 Naomi married Wesley Ellsworth Pharis in the Logan LDS Temple in Logan, Utah. 
Naomi was a wonderful wife, mother and homemaker. In her free time she enjoyed crocheting, reading, puzzles, her garden and especially her family.
Naomi was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving a mission with Wesley at Albuqueque with the Navajo Indians.  She was also a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers.
Naomi is survived by her husband, Wesley of Blackfoot; children, Terry (JoAnne) Pharis of Blackfoot; Steven (Susan) Pharis of Pingree; Scott (Kimmie) Pharis of Blackfoot; Chad Pharis of Seattle, Wash.;, Susan Pharis of Boise; Kent (Paula) Pharis of Salmon and Ron (Ieleen) Pharis of Paulden, Ariz.; son-in-law, Bob Hess of Shelley; brothers, Lewis and Doyle Elison of Blackfoot; 28 grandchildren; 59 great -grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Colleen Hess; daughter-in-law, J’Lene Pharis; brother, LaVon Elison; sister, Maurine Tolman; and granddaughter, Mary Pharis.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 19, 2012 at the Blackfoot LDS Stake Center, 1650 Highland Drive in Blackfoot.
The family will meet with friends and relatives from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2012 at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 South Shilling Avenue in Blackfoot and for one hour prior to services at the church.
Interment will follow at the Groveland Cemetery.
