Perseverance helps GED graduate from Moreland

Cami Elizabeth Kirk of Moreland was the student speaker at the GED graduation on Friday evening at ISU. She was asked to share her experience about obtaining her GED.
“Ever since I was little, I wasn’t interested in learning,” she said. “Yeah, I was ashamed that I didn’t graduate from high school; that I goofed off all the way through school. I thought I would never progress in my life.”
“After dropping out of school, I still had this annoying battle with myself about learning,” Kirk said. “It was driving me crazy, so I started working on my GED and completed two of the tests.”
The entire GED program then changed, realigning the requirements with common core. Kirk had to start completely over.
