Ruth Seville Parker Hatch 92

Ruth Seville Parker Hatch, 92, of Blackfoot, passed away Monday, Feb. 10, 2014 at the Bingham Memorial Hospital.
She was born Dec. 10, 1921 in Hibbard, Idaho. Her  parents are Lorenzo R. Parker and Alice Seville Long Parker. 
She was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She held many positions in the church, including Relief Society president, gospel doctrine teacher, Primary worker and Young Women's advisor. She was a shining example to her posterity. 

She married Ralph Hatch in the Logan Temple Dec. 19, 1941. They started their life together in Moreland. Then World War II came and Ralph was drafted. Ruth and her girls went to live by her parents in Iona. When he came home they moved back to Moreland. Later they moved to Leslie, Idaho. They then  moved to the Pahsimeroi Valley to continue ranching. Mother followed Dad wherever his ranching interests took them.  
Ruth excelled in academics and was valedictorian at Moreland High School. Next she went to Ricks College for one year. Later in her life she became a beautician owning her own shop in Mackay. As time went on she moved her shop to her home. Her interests were gardening, reading, and fishing. Ruth was the queen of one-liners.
She is survived by daughters Brenda Lee Kauer, Blackfoot and  Katherine (Richard) Snow, Pocatello; sons Parker Hatch, Pahsimeroi and Cody (Kelly) Hatch, Lindon, Utah,  brother, Leo H. (Lois) Parker of Utah, 15 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sisters Mary, Roween and Melba and brother Rao. 
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 15 2014 at the Blackfoot LDS Third Ward Church, 845 Grant Street, under the direction of Hawker Funeral Home, 132 S. Shilling Ave., Blackfoot.
A viewing will be held one prior to the services at the church.
Interment will be in the Moreland Cemetery.
