Sew Fun Quilting opened in Shelley in May. The store is located at 132 E. Maple, across the street to the south of the Shelley City Park.
Asked why she opened a quilt shop, owner Janis Felsted, said, "Hearing that Porter's (in Idaho Falls) was closing, I asked myself, 'where were people going to buy quality minky?'"
At Sew Fun Quilting, "we have the largest assortment of Shannon Cuddle available in East Idaho, in both solid or dimple," she said.
Also on sale are quality cottons, satin, the lightweight material, Embrace Double Guage that can be used for swaddling blanket, lots of notions and rulers and Quilter's Dream batting on a roll.
Plenty activities are scheduled at the quilting store.
A "Viewers' Choice" contest will continue through Tuesday, July 17, when the last votes can be cast. People must come into the store to vote.
