Snake River celebrates end of reading program

THOMAS — A party was given to celebrate the end of the summer reading program at the Snake River School/Community Library Thursday. About 450 kids and their parents attended.
About 400-450 kids had registered for the summer reading program. It's estimated each child read about 20 books each. That totals from 8,000 to 9,000 books were read through June.
Kids registered for the summer program ranged from 2-3 years old to 15-16. A variety of books were read.
The Idaho National Guard brought a wall for the kids to climb. Kids played with a parachute and a hot dog lunch was served.
The library will be open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday all summer.
The library is located on the south end of the Snake River High School. The library's address is 922 W. Hwy. 39, Blackfoot.
