The Snake River FFA (Future Farmers of America) Alumni Chapter are looking for items to be donated for the scholarship auction and banquet that will take place on Friday, March 9. The advisory committee is soliciting local businesses and individuals for items to be auctioned off to raise money for scholarships, travel and events for the Snake River High School FFA Chapter members.
Delwin Bevan, Vice President of the Snake River FFA Alumni Council, said, "The money is used for college scholarships and pays for a portion of the expenses to attend state and national conventions. We also helped students attend the Livestock Show in Denver in January."
"This is the alumni fundraiser," he explained. "FFA kids help serve the meal, watch calls for bidders and show off the donated items. Arnold (Callison), the auctioneer, has helped us for years; Kitty Peterson has also helped with the food for a lot of years." Dinner will be served at 6 p.m. in the Snake River High School cafeteria, located at 922 W. Hwy. 39, Blackfoot.
A silent auction will be going on while dinner is served. The live auction will start at 7 p.m.
