Stalker students duct tape teachers to wall

The squeals and giggles coming from Stalker Elementary School could probably be heard from miles around as students had the rare opportunity to duct tape their teachers to the gym wall during a special assembly Friday afternoon.
According to PTA president Jenny Wells, the students earned the opportunity to duct tape their teachers for "having 100 percent student participation and raising over $6,000 in the dance-a-thon fundraiser at the school on March 11."
As an incentive to bring in more money, the students earned one yard of duct tape for every $25 earned for the fundraiser.
The participating teachers stood on a stool against the gym wall as the students who earned duct tape were called up individually to tape their teachers. After all of the duct taping was done, the stools were removed to see which teacher stuck to the wall the longest.
"Fifth grade teacher Amanda Jones won. She just stayed stuck to the wall and we finally had to remove the tape so she could get off the wall," Wells said with a laugh.
Wells said this is the first time the school has done such a 'duct tape your teacher' reward party and that she was pleased that the teachers were good sports and willing to participate in the event.
"I'd like to give a big 'thank you' to the supportive staff here at Stalker," she said.
